Mode 2 charging cable for on the road

When you're on the road but don't have access to a charging pole or a wall charger, such as when parking during work hours or while visiting friends, the mobile charging station allows you to take advantage of the time and still charge your car.

When traveling, the mobile charging station also allows you to charge your car at industrial sockets. With a charging cable type 2 to CEE 32A or charging cable type 2 to CEE 16A also at the industrial sockets on camping sites. Appropriate adapters for the mobile charging station ensure that you can also refuel your car abroad.

Unlike an emergency charging cable, a mobile charger allows you to charge an e-car up to 22 kW and is therefore also called a mobile wall charger.

Mode 2 charging cable as a mobile wall charger

However, the mobile charger for the electric car is not only suitable for on the road. In combination with our wall mount for mobile charging stations, it can also serve as an alternative to a permanently installed wall charger at home - as a mobile wall charger, so to speak. A conventional wall charger is not an option for some electric vehicle owners, for example because they do not have their own garage or a fixed parking space. The mobile charging box allows you to still recharge your vehicle at home. With a mobile wallbox with 11 kW power, this is even possible without the approval of the grid operator.

Mobile charging station or wall charger: Which is cheaper?

Electric car owners faced with the decision between a mobile charging station and a wall charger naturally also look at the costs associated with the respective charger. In the case of a mobile charging station for an electric car, only the purchase price is incurred. A wall mount can be purchased as an option, which turns the mobile charging station into a wallbox light, so to speak, for charging in Mode 2.

The purchase and installation of a wall charger incurs more costs in comparison, namely:

  • Purchase price
  • Installation by a qualified electrician
  • possibly wall or ceiling breakthroughs
  • possibly additional costs due to approval by the network operator

A permanent wall charging station can nevertheless be worthwhile in the long term, as charging via the wall charger costs less than at public charging stations and the charging process is shorter than with a mobile charger, depending on the power.

What you should look for when buying a mobile charging station

When purchasing a mobile charging station, several coded adapters for different types of plugs are included. These adapters recognize the plug being used and avoid overloading the outlet or charging cable. The Mode 2 charging cable should also be sure to carry the CE seal to ensure the highest level of safety when charging.
