The LAPP Smart Charging Cable (SCC) is an innovative DC charging cable solution designed to optimize the infrastructure of electric commercial vehicle fleets. With lengths of up to 100 meters, the SCC enables greater flexibility in depot and loading dock design while significantly reducing infrastructure requirements.
This extended reach is made possible by a CCS2 connector with an integrated control board, allowing direct communication between electric vehicles and a centralized power supply unit. Reliable and high-performance data transmission is ensured through the integration of the proven LAPP ETHERLINE® data communication technology directly into the charging cable.
By enabling a single power unit to serve multiple charging positions, the Smart Charging Cable helps fleet operators reduce installation costs, maximize space utilization, and increase operational flexibility, making charging depots more efficient and future-ready.
Depot Charging
An electric bus or truck fleet does not necessarily require more space in the depot. With a simple overhead charging infrastructure and the SCC, all electric vehicles can be charged via a single power supply unit. The integration of the SCC with flexible cable lengths allows for a wide variety of configurations without the need for additional control units on the overhead framework, saving both space and costs.
